The mission of Bridge to Enter Advanced Mathematics (BEAM) is to create pathways for students from low-income and historically marginalized communities to become scientists, mathematicians, engineers, and computer scientists.
We believe:
Every child deserves the opportunities that a top-notch education offers.
Our society will be more innovative and prosperous if more of our youth have a pathway to careers in science, engineering, math, and computer science.
The most effective support for young people is holistic, and includes not just academic supplements but also organizational support, academic counseling, mentorship, and encouragement.
To have the greatest impact, we must begin at an early age and continue through high school and college, until our young people have achieved their goals.
To achieve this, we will:
Create a supportive community around our students that includes peers, teachers, mentors, and professionals in STEM fields.
Provide our students with academic counseling, academic help, mentorship, and support to enable them to attend advanced academic programs, excellent high schools, and good-fit colleges.
Immerse BEAM students in deep mathematical experiences through rigorous summer programs and challenging, enriching year-round activities.
Prepare BEAM students for collegiate studies in STEM disciplines.
Ensure that a family's financial circumstances never prevent a student from participating in our programs.
