Professional Development at BEAM’s Summer Math Discovery Program: Lessons Learned and Future Directions

BEAM recently piloted Summer Math Discovery: a project that supports other district and community partnerships in running a packaged summer program modeled after BEAM Discovery.
This whitepaper will focus on the development, dissemination, and immediate outcomes of the teacher professional development sessions given to Albuquerque Public Schools and Memphis Teacher Residency, as part of the project.
The purpose of this whitepaper is to record the intention behind the development and lessons learned from the dissemination in the hope it will help others doing similar work in the space.
